Comfortable Apartment
Snug-As-A-Bug Sleep House offers a one-bedroom apartment with a private entrance and free on-site parking. The unit includes a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, and kitchenware. There is a dining table, an outdoor dining area, a sofa bed, and a TV. The bathroom has a good shower, though the basin is small. Guest reviews highlight a comfortable bed, warm room, and thoughtful touches like fresh flowers, charger cables, and house sandals.
Kitchenette for Meals
There is no onsite restaurant. The kitchenette allows guests to prepare their own meals. The host provides complimentary noodle packs, a variety of teas, and snacks. Some guests noted limited cutlery and counter space, but the setup works for basic cooking. The host sorts dishwashing daily.
Leisure
The property includes a garden with an outdoor dining area. The quiet, residential hillside setting offers privacy and peaceful surroundings. Free WiFi and a TV are available for entertainment. The apartment is non-smoking throughout.
Location
The apartment is in the hills northwest of Dunedin, about a 10-minute drive to the city centre. Dunedin Airport is 31 km away. Free on-site private parking is available, though the driveway is tight. Bus services are accessible, but the location is best for travellers with a car.
Services
The host, Robert, is polite and welcoming. Services include free WiFi, free parking, private entrance, and daily dishwashing. Guests appreciate the welcome snacks, toiletries (shampoo, gel, baby wipes), and extra bedding (sofa bed or camp stretcher). The host responds quickly to requests.
“This converted dwelling, nestled discreetly in a quiet residential pocket, truly embraces thoughtful hospitality. The attention to detail, from fresh blooms to thoughtful amenities, elevates it beyond its compact footprint. It's a surprisingly well-appointed and genuinely welcoming space that offers exceptional value.”
